"Sikandar" - a man who believes in doing his duty for his country and its people. As punishment for murdering an offender from their village, Sikandar's family have been exiled from their land and ordered to never return under threat of death. In order to protect his family, Sikandar decides it is time to strike back against those who have wronged them as well as the tyrannical ruler who has controlled their lives for years. As his campaign progresses, he finds himself becoming the hero he never was before, unable to stop the path of vengeance before it consumes him.The film is written by Pankaj Dubey, who also wrote the story of the earlier Varun Dhawan-starrer "Kaabil", directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film also stars Irrfan Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Hansika Motwani and Supriya Pathak in key roles. The first look of Sikandar Singh was released on 8 August 2018. The movie is scheduled to release on 11 November 2018.A film titled "Sikandar" was announced in 1997, which was supposed to be directed by Subhash Ghai and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. The film was not made then. Later, in 2010, the project was revived with Subhash Ghai still set to direct the film, which Akshay Kumar would star in. The film would be produced by Mukesh Bhatt under Vishesh Films for a tentative 2011 release, with shooting to commence in April 2010. However again the movie did not happen. Finally, in 2018, the film is announced with Arjun Kapoor playing the titular role. He was cast in the film after he was dropped for "Bharat", which was to feature Salman Khan. The first look of Sikandar Singh was released on 8 August 2018. The film is scheduled to release on 11 November 2018.
